Brothers from different mothers“ – this is how the first Duo Show of the artist friends Alëxone Dizacs and Sumo at the art is just a four letter word gallery is called. The show runs from the 3rd of December 2016 until the 31st of January 2017. The Parisian Alëxone and Sumo from Luxembourg are friends for a long time, already cooperated for several artistic collaborations and emphasizes that they understand the world like soul buddies. Not only the private friendship connects them, also their artistic work contains analogies. As different as their imagery and artistic approaches are, their personal life and the experience of it, is elementary for the substantively level of their oeuvre. Sumo works with symbols, figurative characters and text parts, which stand for personal life situations and thoughts, and puts them together randomly like huge mind maps or overlapping, complex universes. Compared to that Alëxone tells his own personal stories by creating fantastic fairy stories with mystic characters. Fire-spitting horses, dogs and above all his manifold modified penguins appear as recurrent cartoon characters in his pictures.
