In his latest works Paul du Bois-Reymond shows the ernomous fragile life and at no time dissolving fears on scenes of chaos, where metropolis and nature are strangly intervowen. A narrative world outlook leads his graphite pencil, regulates the bright and dark with the countless openings of light grey until metall black. Simultaneous contrasts are shown, not of colours, but of things, happenings, induced by brutal prism. This magical method of the surrealists permits crucial tests and nightmares of everyones own imagination.
The Anti-idyll: an artist- attitude carried to extremes. This leads to extreme affect changes. Sometimes the picture immenseness retires for a moment, maybe to rest!? But there is no peace – that is the melancolic realization of this paper works. Snapshots, patterns and structures comes into the field of view unforeseeable, pushing themselves on stage. All this has to get organized and disordered, has to be shown and hidden at the same time. It is an immens pressure on opened and closed eyes. In that case Paul du Bois-Reymond’s knowledge and talent of placing effects within his graphit-papers, is a blessing for his works and observer.
