A wonderful world, or a world to wonder at.
For Super A and P. Winkel the world all around them is one of constant inspiration, but not only the beautiful and positive subjects are the ones to be found in their works. Where a lot of people find a thrill by visiting theme parks and fairs, the two artists observe life and the world as maybe the biggest ride of them all. What is true, what is safe, what is privacy and what is your own role in this rollercoaster of observations and decisions.
For this show they combine and intertwine different subjects as well as their styles into new collaborations which tell a different story within different layers in the works. The realistic painting skills and storytelling of Super A on the one hand interact with the handpainted typography and simple illustrations of P. Winkel on the other hand. The tension created through this interaction is what the combination of their styles make it a perfect match for this theme.
The artists would like you to have a look into their “Wonder World” and see what they wonder about. Expect paintings, woodworks, typography and flashing lights. The atmosphere of past days with the subjects of these days.
